School Edition! - Whats in my schoolbag?

SCHOOL EDITION!

So I just thought that due to the fact I have to go back to that amazing place we all call school...(yea I know, worst place in the world) I would do a sort of "back to school" blog as we have now finished exams (unless you do health and social care), and I sort of like to get organised and start fresh as I will be starting lots of brand new modules this term...YAYY! 

The first thing that I got new for going back to school is this little owl broach that I just love to pieces. I actually got this little guy as someone gave it to my nanny and she obviously has nowhere to wear it and so she passed it along to me, so I like to think of it as sort of special in a way. Also everyone in my school has a badge there whether they are a prefect, buddy or in some sort of sports team and of course I am none of those things :) So i'll just settle for my little broach that I absolutely love. I have no idea where this broach is from as it wasn't me who purchased it but I am fairly sure that he was pretty inexpensive! 

I also got a brand new pair of shoes for starting back to school after the long break as my old had holes in them and were pretty worn out. I purchased the exact same pair of shoes that I had before, a plain black pair of brogues with the loveliest detail around them, as they were extremely comfy and I enjoy the style. They are also just high enough that I am off the ground and wetness but not overly high that they are clumpy and big. Again, I did not purchase these myself, my lovely mother did so I'm not 100% sure were you can get these or their price but I believe it is in and around £20-40 from any shoe stores you know.

My school bag is a brown satchel from Topshop that I feel in love with as soon as I laid my eyes on it. It is the perfect type of school back for me as it fits a lot in it and is also slim and tiny enough that my shoulder doesnt ache carrying it about, and of course so that i can maneuver in and around my school at rush periods throughout the day. 

 It has this one long strap that is extremely durable that I like to carry my bag with most as I feel that it sits better and looks a lot nicer when I do this. The strap is also adjustable so that you can have it at whatever length you prefer, however I keep mine pretty long so that it is directly against my thigh. 

It also has this handy little handle at the top that I will often use to pick the bag up with if it is on the floor. I do not use this handle for really anything else but it does come in handy.

Now starting in to what is currently in my bag! These are all the items that you will normally see in my bag except for the odd few. 

The first thing that I like to carry around in my bag is 2 lined file pads that I can write on and take notes in class. I used to carry my file pads in the same file that I was bringing to class, however they were too big and bulky and were taking up too much room while also consistently breaking my files closing clasp. I got these file pads from my school at the start of the year with the £10 that our school allows you to spend free on stationary supplies. 

I also carry around this sheet organiser where I like to keep all my sheets and booklets that maybe don't belong in a specific file or are too important to just throw in my bag in case they get crumpled. Many sheets that need to be signed and returned to my teacher end up in this lovely little folder. I also adore the design on this folder as it is fun and colourful. One of my teachers actually complimented this folder and the design.

I am also carrying these three books in my bag at the minute as I recently had a Politics exam and an english exam in which Chaucer and my politics textbook where needed. My Albert Camus book is with me as it has been sitting in my house until we finished the previous course that was on Chaucer and King Lear. I did not purchase any of these books as the school provided us with the material! 

My Diary is a thing that you will never find me without. I recently purchased this diary today as I fell in love with the pattern completely, I think it's so girly and cute. I actually had another diary in my bag that was pink, however it now sits in my handbag, meaning that I don't have to switch between the two any more. Our school will provide you with a homework diary at the start of the year, however I find it to be plain, too small and not enough room for any of my social dates that I want to include. This diary also comes with a cute pale pink ribbon that allows you to quickly find what week you're on.

My pencil case is one of my favourite things in my bag as it contains all my pens that I love to write with and I love the design of the pencil case anyway. It's so fun and girly and if you cant tell already, I am a huge girly girl at heart, so this design just called to me.

This is just some of the stationary that I take with me in my pencil case. The two pens that I most like to write with are these WHSmith pens that I got when I was over in London. I am really particular about pens and if I don't like the way that they write I will not use them. I like the pens that I use to make the writing appear thing and easy, as I will be writing for most of the day. These pens came in a pack of 3 that I purchased at WHSmith for £2.50
The pastel coloured writing pens are a new purchase that I got to inspire me to revise, its irrelevant if it worked or not...I love my work to appear pretty and colourful, not boring and so I loved these colours as soon as I saw them. It actually came with two more colours but these are my favourite. I purchased these in Tesco's for £6
My pink glue stick is just an essential that is needed in every pencil case, I just really like mine because it's pink along with my metallic pink sharpener. I like my sharpeners to have a bit where the shavings can go so that I don't have to constantly get up and go to the bin. I also like to have big giant rubbers so that they last forever and don't tempt me to cut them up (im such a child at heart) and the pencils that I like to write with are these teal coloured ones that are soft to the touch.

The highlighters that I have are these Sharpie ones. Sharpie is a really good make for stationary as their pens are known all over the world, and seeing as I am constantly needing to highlight passages in English and Politics I thought it best to invest in a good brand of highlighters. I enjoy the colours that came with these highlighters, especially the yellow (that is beyond bright) and the pink. I use these highlighters nearly everyday and could not recommend them enough, they are still going strong!

Now these Staedtler pens are one of my best buys that I use constantly. They are different from my pastel coloured pens that write thin as these bad boys are more like felt tips. Without a doubt I use these pens every single day, multiple times throughout the day and not one of them is running out yet. They are good to use for titles on work and also for maybe ticking things that you have done or even for writing down specific words (however I use my thinner pens for that). They are such a good buy!

I purchased this file today as I am always drawn to bright colour and love to have pretty stationary (if you couldn't tell already). I got this file for English as I will be starting into a new topic on Monday and so I thought it best to start with a new file.

This file was got for my Health and Social Care coursework that we have started into. I didn't need a lever arch file for this coursework as I thought it would not need that much space however I am now thinking that I should actually go out and get one because the work is piling up. I also do not need a file for anymore theory as that is completed (provided I don't need to resit in June).

The year started off as any other year. I was optimistic and was having a blast in lower sixth. I couldn't fault lower sixth at all. It was one of the funniest years in high school and it made most of 2011 amazing. Everyone got on with everyone, I had my close knit group of friends who I loved dearly and I had not a problem with anyone in the year. I made my new years resolutions and was happy with life. The only thing that was bugging me in the back of my mind was an unresolved problem with a former "friend" of mine and the fact that my granny (whom I am extremely close to is was terminally ill) and we thought that we had celebrated our last Christmas together. But apart from that 2012 was on track.

February 2012

Everything was continuing to go fine, I was enjoying February very much after coming back to school for a month. Everyone seemed to be getting along fine with everyone and there were no problems. We all were going out to town as much as possible as exams had finished and we enjoyed each others company very much (me and my friends that is). Speaking of friends, it is probably best that I mention their names now as they will most likely come up a lot and it would probably help if you all knew who I was talking. My close knit group of friends at this time included Nicola, Amye, Beckah, Melissa, Claudia, Kirsty & Julia. Everything was sweet, and I would be lying if I said my school wasn't clicky, because it is maybe the most bitchest school alive. Kirsty and Julia had recently got over a huge fight that noone knew what it was over, Julia had just had enough of Kirsty, as had Amye and Beckah, however Claudia and I were there for Kirsty throughout everything and never left her side. But in February we were good.

March 2012

A lot happened in March 2012 involving sports achievements. March is normally a very boring year for everyone in high school as not much occurs, however this year was a very exciting year for our boys rugby team and our girls hockey team. Both the first 11, which is the highest you can move in the team. <if that made sense? 

Our boys got to the final and made it to Ravenhill, which is a big deal for our school because they have only ever done it two other times in history (I think, dont quote me on that) and so it was a very exciting time. They got on the newspaper and their photos were up around the town, and they were shown on tv, it was a very very big deal. Unfortunately the guys didn't win, they lost quote badly but we all stood by and cheered for them like any patriotic school would.  Plus methody are a bunch of twats anyways.

The girls 1st 11 Hockey Team was more of a big deal, especially for our group because Nicola was on that team and so we were all rooting for her to win. We went down to that hockey pitch bearing signs and posters that showed our love for the team (especially Nicola) and we cheered and cheered. Even the guys in our school put up a good front, shouting at abuse at the other side as they were doing at us. The game was extremely intense and I had an extreme amount of pride for Nicola going on that pitch in front of hundreds and playing. The team played their socks off and made history, being the first ever girls hockey squad in Ballyclare High to win the cup. I know it made Nicola's year and so it was a big deal for us all, and she was so happy, ill never forget the way she ran around that pitch like a headless chicken screaming her heart out. It was a moment to remember. Of course the guys were raging, they hadn't yet played their rugby match but it put a lot more pressure on their shoulders to succeed where the school hadnt before and there is still an ongoing joke in my school that you will not get if you dont go - "top of the pyramid".

April 2012

April was an interesting year to say the least. It involved the two certain people coming into my life that caused a lot of drama between our group and strained the ties. This is all very interesting and dark you say, yes, but I guess ill start at the beginning when it all happened. The girls and me were all getting on great but Amye, Melissa and Julia were going off on the annual ski trip that they went every year (have to admit I hate that blood ski trip) but they love it and were excited at the prospect of having another fun year. This meant that Beckah, Nicola, Claudia and I were a bit disheartened as we had nothing fun to look forward too and so we all came up with the idea to go down to portrush. Zoe (Beckah's good friend) joined also. Ah the dreaded portrush. We arrived at portrush and were planning on staying in Nicola's sister's uni house, and lord above, that place was a mess. We tidied it up a bit but it was hard work.

This night was very eventful, and i will not go into too much detail but it involved Luke Ireland and Dylan Ashefield coming into my life and the girls lives (negatively). 

All of us decided to go down round Portrush to explore and to go to Coast for dinner, where along the way we ran into Luke & someone else who for the life of me I cannot remember. They were down at Portrush for the day as well with a few of their other friends who had currently disappeared and they were conveniently hungry as well. So, us being the hospitable girls that we were asked them if they would like to join us for dinner at coast and of course they obliged. After dinner, we all decided to walk around a bit and we went into the arcade place and did all the usual tourist stuff around Portrush, however Luke was being persistently rung by Dylan (who I had not met at this point) and wanted to meet up. Beckah and I however were not in the mood to stand about Portrush (as it's freezing) and so decided that we would go get some ice cream (driving of course) and left Nicola and Claudia to go off with Luke to meet up with the rest of these people. While we were away however something happened were it ended up that Luke, Ryan and Dylan were all staying the night. 

As these things happen, everyone started to drink a lot of alcohol and get very drunk. I actually passed out that night in the bathroom - not from alcohol, from feeling sick. Spirits were high and music started playing. For some reason I remember a strobe light and the song Yes by LMFAO and another dreaded song Fuck you betta... 

As these things happen girls and boys are attracted to each other and yada yada yada we all sort of paired up. Beckah wasn't feeling very well and so decided that she was going to hit the hay, however ally purdy and his friends showed up and Beckah got talking to them. Nicola paired up with Dylan, Zoe paired up with Ryan, Claudia paired up briefly with Purdy (however he left after about an hour) and I paired up with Luke.

*scene changes* Its not morning and we all had a very interesting night to say the least, but Dylan and Luke were now apart of our lives, mostly mine and Nicolas.

April also involved another fun night including Titanic sounds in which all the girls were looking forward to this night as it was the first time we saw Amye since she had been back from the Ski trip and we were all very excited as Titanic Sounds was going to be playing on MTV for everyone to see. It included Olly Murrs, Pixie Lott, Katy B & Rizzel Kicks.

In April, Claudia, Nicola & I became even closer with Luke & Dylan and it involved a lot of different nights involving me and Nicola out in the car with them two or a dvd day with Claudia, Luke & I.

I also did a lot more family based things in April and went out for dinner often with my dad and his partner, Arlene and my sister of course and messed around with my mum and her partner Dave also. April was a fun packed month and everything was still fine with the girls etc.

May was a fun month also, however everyone was starting to get ready for exams, and even had some exams in May, so we couldnt do as many things as we would have liked to. Going out was a rare and instead we all decided to spend more time together, like friends do, having movie nights at Julia's house (which was a regular occurrence) and going on silly car rides together. Amye and Julia also found out that they got prefect this month which was such a nice moment for them and im so happy for them, and Nicola recieved her trophy thing for winning the schools cup (im pretty sure) and became deputy head girl which was even more exciting and yet again, felt so proud of her :')

In May I also took on a big change myself with deciding to dye my hair blonde. This was a very big change for me because as you can see i am naturally very dark, however I got a lot of lovely compliments and everyone seemed to love it, except for my mum...

June 2012

June was very fun month, considering that our exams were coming to a close and we would be off for summer very soon. It was largely anticipated and I could not wait to be free from school and work and health and social care..

During June I also decided to dye my hair back to brown as the ends were breaking off and my hair was just very dry and unhealthy. Dying it back to brown gave it a new lease of life and allowed my hair to become healthy and long again (as I have been growing it for a long time). And I am a brunette at heart after all. 

We did different little things in June, such as going on trips to the Rhinka (and amazing ice cream shop) and getting lost I might add, going out for dinner, having house gatherings (certainly not parties;) and doing stupid things like the cinnamon challenge? We were just enjoying each others company like best friends should. :)

During June everyone also decided that it was a good idea for us all to go to Kellys (which is a big club in Portrush) to celebrate the end of our exams and boy what a night. It was such a fun night, mostly because its hard to have a bad night at Kellys, but the whole year was just getting on so well and were saying goodbye to lower sixth and hello to upper sixth (that we were yet to know was hell.)

July 2012

July was a very big month for me as it was MY BIRTHDAY!! This meaning that I was not going to have to use fake ID anymore (not that I did that pfft) and that I could now legally drink alcohol and go out as I was turning 18!!!! For my birthday Nicola, Julia & Beckah were so cute and made me a big massive board, collage thingy, got my makeup done at Mac & got me a pandora charm. Amye was amazing and made a me a sweet book of our time together (14 years!!) and Claudia was so lovely and got me huge makeup bag full of goodies that I loved. Kirsty was also great and got me a £30 voucher for my nails to get done, which was used on my sisters hair, but its the thought that counts:)

July was also a great month, not just because of my birthday but also because all of us except Kirsty & Amye decided that we were going to go down to Castlerock, to Beckah's granny's caravan and spend the weekend. It was so much fun and give us all a great time to bond and have fun together. We went out to eat every night and had a fun time in a supermarket trying to decided what to buy... We all went to a fairground and got "tattoos" and played board games in the caravan while chatting up the local talent of course;) and went on swans because thats what you do when you go to castlerock obviously? It was a really fun trip and brought us all closer together yet again.

August 2012

August was another chilled month in which we all enjoyed each other's company even more and it was also a very special month for Amye, who was turning 18, 3 weeks and 5 days exactly after me;) We had a lovely family birthday with Amye which was so fun and I also made her a video in which lots of different people wish her "happy birthday" in it to show how loved she was by many. It was also something that she could keep for years to come and even show her friends in uni the friends she had then. It was irrelevant that I was out of focus in the video ;)

For Amye's birthday later on that week (think it was the next day) we also went out with the rest of our year to celebrate her becoming 18 and had a great wee night with the year bonding again as usual, all just enjoying  our freedom while it lasted.

 August was also filled with fun days at the beach were we took hours to drive to our location and 2 cars full because it so many of us wanted to go and soak up the nice weather while we still could, because results were looming on the horizon and upper sixth was steadily calling us back for another year - still unaware that it would be hell.

September 2012

September was the start of upper sixth after receiving back our A levels and getting back into school. I hadnt done as well as I had hoped, however considering I did all my revision the night before I was lucky to have got as well as I did. Upper sixth began and I thought it was going to be a really good year full of freedom and fun with the whole year. Oh how I was wrong. The first couple of months were fine as youll see but my did Upper sixth take a turn for the worst. In September however we had Edinburgh to look forward too were Beckah, Julia & I all went off with a bunch of other girls to look at Edinburgh University. Safe to say, Scotland is cold.

October 2012

October 2012 is the month in which we all know to mainly revolve around good old Halloween. Who doesnt love Halloween? Things are still all fine, except the workload was really beginning to take a toll in school and the strictness was overwhelming. In upper sixth you would think you would get a bit more respect and they noramlly did in other years but this year they decided that they were going to be extra strict and not let us have as much freedom as they did the other years. Even more so for Kirsty, Claudia and Me who only received about 4 common room periods (social time) where we could go to the common room and chill as we got received one grade below a C. Yeah, our school sucks iknow. But half term came (thank goodness) and Halloween was pretty good night. I went to two different events in which the first one at the Rugby Club I dressed up as a Zombie Nurse and the other event (a social) I went as a cat, along with about 50 other people. (so inventive).

October also saw the first ever time I ventured out to Ollies and had a blast. Ollies was such great fun and everyone there seemed to have a blast. It was really just the girls who went out that night and it was some of the most fun i've had. I normally have the most fun when its just with the girls and Jonny's birthday also occurred around this time, in which I actually had a thoroughly good time.

Not much was happening in November as everyone was rearing up for the formal anyways, however we all had one last go at Kellys, as we had such fun last time, however this time it was a bit of a disappointment. I guess things cant always consistently live up to your expectantions, but this was a special occasion also as it was Julia's birthday for her turning 18 and so we all went out to Kellys just for her :)

 In November, Nicola also introduced us all to thee most cutest, fluffiest dog you have ever seen that was the most adorable little thing ever, & Me and Kirsty came to baby sit it with her. A few more nights out were also entwined in this in which we went to Beach club and I had to be driven home due to me passing out quite badly by my friend, Phil and Nicola seemed to have a very good night ;) Unfortunately I couldn't say the same for Julia...

December 2012

Coming to the end of the road now, and I have to say, December was one of the worst months in the entire year. In fact, it has been the worst month in 2012. The dreaded formal was approaching on the 19th December and Kirsty had basically gone off with a bunch of the girls in our year. But I let her get on with everyone even though I was still in shock at her departure. She wasn't completely gone yet but it was evident that it would happen. The formal came around and I hate formals. I just hate the whole atmosphere around formals, and the amount of pressure that is on a formal. It's almost like fake fun. Like you have to enjoy it because there is so much pressure for it to be a good night. I enjoyed the formal bit with the teachers, however i did not enjoy the after formal and Julia was pretty lost at the after formal so I stuck around with her as she didnt know where to be at.

After the formal was when things really started to get bad. Julia all of a sudden stopped hanging out with all of us and talking to all of us? I mean why in your right mind would that even happen. She went off with Kirsty and the rest of those other girls and Kirsty and Julia just started documenting every single moment when they were together with them. I was shocked at Julia when these were the same girls that made her cry over in Edinburgh whenever they all didnt go to the restaurant and who was there for Julia then and made sure that she got to go? moii. I was there for Kirsty and Julia and now i dont even know them. I just dont understand why you would want to spend the last 6 months of your school life with a bunch of girls you dont know very well when we have been together for 6 and a half years? It literally boggles my mind. It was particularly bad one night out when Julia didnt even spend any time with us what so ever and just looked over at us as if she didnt even know us. I couldnt believe it. :(

After that night out I thought, well at least we will all get to spend New Years together and instead Julia went off with the rest of those other girls again trying anything to fit in when her real friends were here all along. The truth of the matter is I really do miss the girl and i miss spending time with her and it does feel like there is a big hole where she used to be. I had 6 and a half years of school life and social life with her in it, it just doesnt go away. And the fact she is choosing to make it go away astounds me even more. Also this month i came to the conclusion that Claudia had done something on me that in my eyes was just unforgiveable and so it involved her having an awful new years as well as me. Without having Julia there and having Claudia and me fighting, December was the worst month of all. Which is sad, because I love Christmas. Due to this fact I said to my self that i would resovle everything with Claudia as i missed her too and i saw how much of an awful night she was having and i didnt want my friend to go through that. Im a girl who really really hates being in conflict with other people. Nicola had a very emotional New Years, saying how we wont have another one together which made me even more sad to think that Julia wasnt there for New Years, possible our last ever one.

I had a lovely Christmas with my family however and that was a good thing that happened in December, along with my Nanny being able to see that Christmas and my dad organising me and my sister to go to London and i spent Boxing day with him and my Granda so i did have a lovely Christmas.

However December was bad, I also decided in this month that it was time to stop talking to my friend, Phil, because everything was getting much to intense for me and i was struggling to stay happy. It was a realy struggle for me to even put a smile on my face as im normally such a happy person.

And this is where the story turns around. This is the year that im going to have a blast. Im not going to get caught up in silly drama and say nasty things behind people's backs because it gets you nowhere in life. Im going to have a great year and have a smile on my face every day. Im going to let Julia come back at her own time, and if she doesnt well its her lose because these girls are one of the most important things in my life and i cherish them greatly every single one of them, Nicola, Beckah, Amye, Claudia & Mel. They all are great aspects of my life and without them I would be lost. This is the last year that i get to spend with these girls and i am not going to sit around and let it pass by without enjoying every moment possible with them that i can. This is going to be a great year. I will make it a great year. 2013 lets be having ya.
